Are You Interested In Finding Out Your IQ?

As with most people, you are probably interested in finding out what your IQ is. There are a lot of different ways in which you can accomplish this task. You can decide to take the easy road and use the Internet in order to find out what you IQ score might be. However, this way will often prove to be less than satisfactory, as you will probably get largely different results from different online IQ tests you find. Therefore, the best way to go for, and probably the only way that will make sure you are doing a standardized IQ test, is taking the official MENSA test, or finding a psychologist that offers IQ testing at their office. If an IQ test is administrated by a professional, you can be sure that the results will be realistic and accurate.

So what is an IQ test? well it is a test that is used to test your IQ… Basically it is a way of figuring out how smart you are… or how smart you are not… An IQ test can be used by many companies or governments to see what they could do with you, so maybe an organisation might want to hire someone, they get an IQ test done on an applicant and then can choose which person is the brightest, or an army might get an IQ test done on someone and then decide if your “officer material” or “cannon fodder”… Schools might have an IQ test for student to see what teaching style is best for the student.

An IQ test is a very useful thing!

There are many sites out there with an IQ test but don’t be bummed if your IQ test score is not that great as there are many factors on why you might not get a good IQ test score! Basically if your not getting your IQ test done by a pro then it probably wont be right and your IQ test score can vary heaps!

A British scientist by the name of Sir Francis Galton is known as the grandfather of the IQ test. He played around during the formation of modern day psychology during the 19th century. Galton studied the relation between genetic heredity and human ability. He though that how we think was based on our physical characteristics.

In other words he thought that if you were a great physical specimen you also had superior mental abilities. Much of the development of the IQ test was expanded upon by Alfred Binet. Binet was appointed by the government of France, in 1904 to find a way to differentiate school children who were intellectually superior to those who weren’t. Binet had a passion to learn why some people seemed to fare better in school and life, than  others. He administered his test to children in Paris and created the beginnings of the IQ test based on the results of testing.

The actual terminology of the IQ test was announced by a professor of psychology by the name of Lewis Terman. Terman was hired by the US Army in 1917 as one of seven psychologists assembled together as part of a team to devise a way of sorting over two million draftees into jobs that suited them. Terman enlisted the help of one of his students to construct an IQ test. The student’s name was Arthur Otis.

The seven member psychology team hired by the army decided to use Otis’s IQ test. His IQ test was given to a test group 4000 soldiers. It seemed to work as the army IQ tested over 2 million draft picks by 1917 during the height of World War One.

An IQ test became the norm for measuring the smarts of people during the 1960’s. In the 1970’s the IQ test became less and less popular because it was learned that the IQ test score could be manipulated by how it was administered. However the evolution of the IQ test continued.

Today we see various forms of theIQ test administered in college entrance exams in the SAT and ACT. Most colleges use the IQ test as a deciding factor of whether or not somebody is accepted to their post secondary educational facilities.

So you want to know what a good IQ test score is? Well we at IQ Test can tell you!

With a score of 120-127, then the IQ test people see you as sharing that spot with only 16.7% and are classed as Superior… “Ok IQ Test” I hear you say “whats the top spot?” well a score of 128 and over puts you in the top 2.2% and your seen as very superior!

What about below average scores for an IQ test? Well let IQ Test tell you! a score of 80-90 and your a bit dull… But don’t worry some IQ tests are not that flash… so we at IQ Test wouldn’t worry about it too much, at 66-79 your seen as borderline (borderline what IQ Test?) well borderline defective… and at a score of 65 and below your seen as… well… not to flash at all… imagine rain man… but without the genius…
